The team finally slid into bed at about 2.30am, with an early rise of 6.30am.
When we arrived at the track we were greeted with many friendly faces, these people have the same interest and love for a sport, so its hard not to become close friends with them.
Sunday morning began nice and early as Daylight Savings had started.
The Top 32 rolled around and we were against local drifter Justin Codr. A little too much angle on Justin’s lead lap which washed off a lot of speed meant that Simon had to swerve to avoid an accident. Simon then progressed onto the Top 16.
We were up against Tasmanian driver Ben Purtell in the Top 16. Tragically his father passed away 2 weeks ago while preparing the car for this event. Ben is an incredible driver and definitely made his father proud this weekend by advancing into the Top 8.
Expression Session soon followed and this allowed for some exciting tandems with Inertia MS’ Stewy Bryant, with some awesome backwards entries by the two, Simon was happy to show off his GKTech suspension mods.
While our competition campaign this round is complete with a 12th place finish, we are incredibly thankful for all of our sponsors for their continued support. We can guarantee that we will head into Round 2 in Western Australia with more determination than ever before.
