In the afternoon it warmed up to be at least 20-25 degrees, which was very pleasant.
Moving into the top 8 put me up against local driver Ben Purtell who has been Drifting for a number of years with many placings under his belt.. by this point it had rained and the track was well and truly saturated. In the pits Ben decided to change to some more suited wet weather tyres and I thought that I would do the same. Keith Adams from WA was kind enough to lend me a pair of his wheels with some Achillies 123's on them. Ben led the first lap and I did an almost stall at the start line which set me back a few meters however I caught up to him by the entry and gained on him to the point whereIi was close on the transition. I had a slight straighten but kept the proximity up. On my lead run i pulled a huge, long entry into the first corner and was able to cleanly link the track with no errors but my slight straighten must have been enough to cost me the battle. Purtell then went on to place 3rd so well done to him!
